Yes they are. Border Collies are very protective too. Data is a great judge of character. I once had a house I was going to rent out and 3 families were interested, so I invited them all over, and while they were there I let Data into the room and watched to see who he warmed up to. Color me crazy but they were the best renters I've ever had. haha Good puppy. :)

I have a german shepard. ugh I think I spelt that wrong, but he's a beauty. Then I have a german shepard mix courgi .lol. quite a funny pair the both of them. Also stuck with a chiwawa (forgive me I do not know how to spell these breeds' names) Jealous of her at first.. (yes my mother adores the little dog) and then I grew out of it and now I'm in love with the little shiza lol go figure.
