He twists words...

I just broke up with my boyfriend today. Well, "took a break." See, he's one of those people that will twists the words he hears into the words that he wants to hear. So when I said I was breaking up with him, he was like "Okay. Well maybe after our break, we can try things out again." I tried to tell him otherwise but he won't listen. And now he's guilting me about my decision, and trying to ask things like "How long will it last? Are you going to run off with someboy during it? Will it last longer than a year or something like that?" How do I politely tell him exactly what I mean, without hurting him to a point that we never talk?
