Hate to admit this Gothic Rose, but, the mans got a point, and a good one at that. Not that the way you see yourself isnt important, but really, Emo was never about cutting yourself or really dressing in black.... blah blah blah. And for what these people actually go through in terms of discrimination and intollerance, to see people so lightly claiming to be EMO, well, its just not on. As a fad, this is more than dissapointing. But, again, you didnt start it, and i'm sure the word EMO doesnt change who you are. Be proud of who you are! EMO is not a nice thing to aspire to.

Emo used to be short for emotional hardcore...which is a form of music...of course you get "emo" people like this chick out there who have completely bastardized the meaning of the word. ugh. That's the same reason I originally quit claiming straight edge (before I started drinking occasionally). I claimed because of the original meaning...but then you get all these stupid fucktards out there ruining the label by beating the shit out of people who's beliefs differ and before too long when someone would hear I was straight edge, they'd tell me I'm a fucking asshole and they don't wanna hang out with some cult member.
