"I guarantee that everyone in this topic is not from the Tri-State area and knew nobody at the towers. You all probably live in small hick towns that will never feel the effects of 9/11 unless your town had some soldier die in Afghanistan." Lowerdeck, is it really necessary that we knew someone personally to be affected by this? Thousands of our fellow countrymen died in a single day. We feel pain that so much promise and so many unfinished lives were cut short by the acts of a maniac and his fanatical followers. And I did know somebody, who came from my "little hick-town"(of 250,000) and fortunately survived the collapse. But he was there, in the towers and he lives with the nightmares of that day. Perhaps, because we "don't know them", we shouldn't feel compassion for those who perished in the Dec. Tsunami? Or were shot down at Virginia Tech? We mourn them because they are fellow human beings who deserve to be remembered and memorialized.

Well, we overthrew the Iraqi and Afghani governments and secretly hope one day to convert them to Christianity. We're not angels either.

There's more to why Osama hates us though. And I left a hint in this post already.

Uh, they do hate freedom. Osama wants us all to convert to Islam and overthrow our democracy.

Don't get me wrong, what happened six years ago was horrible. It was humanity at it's lowest and the immediate aftermath was humanity at it's highest. But you know... it's been six years. How much are we going to keep bringing this up? I guarantee that everyone in this topic is not from the Tri-State area and knew nobody at the towers. You all probably live in small hick towns that will never feel the effects of 9/11 unless your town had some soldier die in Afghanistan. I live in Connecticut, I'm tired of hearing about all this 9/11 reflection. It was one of those events you can't forget because it was horrible enough. Is everyone's way of reflecting 9/11 happen to be beating each other down with 9/11 and never moving on beyond that day?

How about this... why did al-Qaida get pissed off at us enough to do something like this in the first place? And not that patriotic bullshit the Republicans threw at us saying they hate freedom and all that other crap.

Remembering these people and remembering the days before...
It seems like just yesterday we were all sitting somewhere, driving somewhere. We were all not so thankful for what we had. We just moved in line or in traffic not having a care in the world. Then the news came. Blaring on the radios on the television. A plane crashes into the World Trade Center. We all stopped what we were doing just to look at the televisions in shock and horror. Stopped in our tracks to glue our ears to the radio only to hear that another plane has went barging into the other World Trade Center. We stood by the television hoping and praying that everyone got out alive and safe. We watched as the World Trade Centers collapsed and cried when we heard about all the people that were missing.
We stood and watched as we saw another plane go crashing into the Pentagon and we cried as we thanked the Heros that lost their lives on flight 93.
In the weeks that came we all put our flags out on our pourchs telling the world that all of us were United and that no one would get us down. We watched the television everyday to see people being saved and lives being lost. We listened to our President start a new war on something that we all thought was right.
On this day we remember the lives lost. The Centers that stood so tall in New York. We also should remember the other people that gave their lives at the Pentagon and the Heros on flight 93. We are a country and the people that died gave there lives for someone who wanted revenge. Even if you dont practice politics at least remember those lives that were killed for the wrong reasons.

6 years ago, was the sadest day for so many people... I hope if there is anything that we all can learn from it, it would be to cherish today and all thats important,, and pray for tomorrow, because it is so uncertain...

i disagree. well not entirely. some the events have been worse and unexcusable. but that's the only side of the story that you hear.

I feel sorry for all does people, specially because they didnt disorve to die but the most saddest thing is that the president just took that event as a excuse to invade another country. Innocent people are dying in the supposed war of the twins towers and for what, for a stupid the petroleum. That event was horrible but the actions that were taken after are worse than the terrorism act.
