Opinions on DLS?

I'm a little behind in technology i guess. I have been using dial-up ever since i had a computer. But I receive a lot of phone calls a day, and i miss them when i am online via dial up. My husband wants to get DLS, so we can receive phone calls while online. Its also supposed to be faster. Since i have only ever used dial-up, i have no clue. Is it faster to the point where i will definetly notice a different? Anyone us DLS and have any opinions? Or maybe something different? THANKS!

	Im in germany and have been an avid user of cable internet service in the states. Unfortunately where im stationed at doesnt offer "highspeed" cable. it only offers DSL. And as with all internet services you'll have to of course do your research on whats offered in your area. but if your looking for faster internet service than what dial up provides than dsl would be a much better avenue of approach. As well as it should free up your phoneline. If your willing to spend more money then cable would be the way to go ( I know stateside cable runs about $20 a month ontop of your current cable bill.) dsl will run roughly the same price only on top of your phone bill. Hopefully that helped if it did nothing more than confuse you im sorry. but to simply answer your question YES dsl will be faster than dial up. as long as you choose a speed of 256Kb or better.
