I'm not saying there is anything wrong with praising Jesus, and all that jazz. I'm a Christian myself, but I'm also a lover of rock, and understand the unfair bias against rock that arose from racism in it's early days. There's nothing wrong with rock, there's even Christian rock, though the only good Christian band I've come across is Jars of Clay. I'm simply pointing out some discrepancies in your arguement. Secular music, doesn't mean 'hating Jesus' music. Again, church hymns could be considered 'secular' as they are derived from bar songs. Doesn't get more secular then a bar. Maybe the secular music of today, rock songs and others, will become the church hymns of the future. Just think, years from now, churches will be playing 'Stairway to Heaven' as an opening hymn. God bless to you too, and remember...
There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold
And she's buying a stairway to heaven
And when she gets there she knows if the stores are closed
With a word she can get what she came for
Woe oh oh oh oh oh
And she's buying a stairway to heaven
It doesn't get more heavenly then that!
