Eating Competitions and Poverty in America.

What are your feelings on the fact that food is put to waste through pointless things such as eating contests, when we have so many poor children and families in this country. How do you feel about the commercials asking for your money to send to other countries to help the children there, when clearly America has it's own issues. Quite frankly, I'm disgusted.

Think about it. Average person consumes 1500 calories a day. The most recent competition I heard of was a hot dog eating competition, he ate 59 hot dogs...130 cal per hot dog w/ bun = almost 8000 calories.
