I agree with Oreondani, also we must think back to the time of the industrial revolution, the world functioned on a basis of "eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth" and the world as a whole prospered.
I don't think we, as taxpayers should have to pay to keep the scum of the earth alive. I do support the death penalty. I would like to see chain gangs started up again as well. We need to make prison less like a hotel. Make criminals work...treat them like slaves. That should deter people from crime. Right now, we pay for prisoners to watch tv, work out in a gym, play basketball...yeah, pretty much sounds like grade school. Real scary. I'm sick of all these bleeding heart liberals saying that this or that is cruel or inhumane. Well, hmm, let's look at what these guys did to get put in the slammer to begin with. When you commit violent crimes you forfeit certain rights. Google the name Joseph Duncan, and tell me this is someone that shouldn't get the death penalty. As far as I'm concerned, he's not human...he's a monster.
Certainly in some cases, life sentence is harsher then a quick death. But honestly, how much does it take to feed and house a prisoner for a lifetime? Prisons are overcrowded as it is, and it will cost more money to build more prisons. And more money to keep these prisoners housed and in relative comfort. And all that money comes from the taxpayers. A life sentence may be more harsh, but the death penality costs less in the long run. And ensures that there is no absolute way that the prisoner could escape or find some sort of legal loophole out of prison.
Exactly...If this message could be brought up to the goverments who still uphoald the death penalty we could make a differnence...but politics is about who has the biggest head so it may be a bit hard...but that's another story...
It is too nice. These are people that have committed mass murders, who have raped countless girls/boys or women/men, who have every right to go to the firy pits of HECK, but instead we should let them all suffer.
I think the death penalty is letting the person get off easy. They should just be sentenced to life in prison... that would be worse because everyday they would know that they are in that place forever...
In certain cases the death penalty is warrented. But it's not something that should be used for every little thing. And certainly, there should be absolutely no doubt about the guilt of the criminal. A innocent man sentenced to death is a terrible thing, that one would hope would never happen. That one movie, The Life of David Gale, was about the death penalty. Very good movie, had Kevin Spacey in it.
I personally support it but theres a very thin line there But im not going into that. But if your believe in the Bible, punishment by death was done away with. Yea put them in jail but the bible also teaches us to forgive and forget. Nearly impossible I know but hey I didn't write it and I don't live by it like i should.
