	basically the message i wanted to get out of my response earlier is that if there's going to be one month dedicated to one race out of the year then i say to hell with the gregorian calendar and put enough months in the year so that every ethnicity has a month.

	ok. you have a point there. i dont think its pointless tho. i dont know about the white history thing kuz thats basikly what we fokuz on in skull anyways, but yea, they should have a Hispanic History Month! the whites get part of the action all year round, and so do blacks, but where does that leave us hispanics?

	i think that black history month should stay in existence solely on the condition that every money grubbing rich black person that has ever said anything about themselves getting paid cuz of their ancestors being enslaved are stripped of all their assets. its been how many hundreds of years? seriously. dont forget, the african warlords and chiefs of the era were enslaving and selling their own to the "evil white man".

	I like Black History Month, it's fun. I agree with 500nets, about the orgins, and Thanksgiving. Plus, in history and social studies classes in school, white history pretty much dominates. You learn about how America started, the pioneers, the heros of the day, and the history up to now. I'm guessing everyone had the same basic schooling on that, we all know who George Washington is, and so forth. Mostly white, so white history is not forgotten. And I think they do have a month, or something, set aside for Hispanics, and women, etc. I'm not certain. But it's no hardship to set aside a month for African Americans, considering that school does teach about the white history. And Thanksgiving. Not being racist against anyone, no offense to anyone. I'm mixed and very proud of it, so Black History Month figures into part of my heritage.

	I'm sure it was created (I'm guessing) in a time where people needed to be reminded of the hardships that blacks had to endure, (as we are all aware of) black people used to be considered to have the mentality of a non-human animal(this was common opinion) and although the point has been made that it obviously is a ridiculous discrimination, the month is historic, for the benefit of the "pioneers" that eliminated that very important injustice., but there should be, native American, and Spanish, women's etc... there's not a white history month because our race was never enslaved in America, we have our own history "day" that is more celebrated and its called thanksgiving
