I have always cherished this dream
A dream of a caring and loving family
Parents who are proud of me
Who don't take sides
They go to my concerts
And say good luck
Or well done
And accept that I try my best
Even though sometimes
My best is not enough
They shouldn't care
Just congratulate me on how hard I tried
Yet no one cares
Best should be the best
No arguments
You're not good enough
That's all I hear
Even when I get 99%
It's still not good enough
And if it is
No one could care less
But with my friends
Everything's different
It doesn't matter
How smart you are
All that counts
Is how much fun we have
And all that I want
Is a family who cares
Is that too much to ask for?
