The Silent Wolf

Views (59) Anger Created on 10-14-07 Flag

The silent wolf is always there
Born from anger, fear, and despair
Lurking in the darkest corner
Yellow eyes with an evil glint
You never know when he will attack
Claws raised, ready to strike back
This silent wolf tortures me, my brother,
And also my mother
But most of all it torments my father
Hiding away, always out of sight
But never out of mind
It may attack at any time, day or night
Though never before has it shown it’s nasty face
Outdoors in a public place
Never, ever, before that day.
Out in the open, with people around
A snarl rang through the air, a terrible sound
My brother fell to the ground
The black wolf was snarling and clawing
And scratching and pawing
Growling and roaring as it struck blow after blow
But my poor brother was screaming, a terrible cry
I tried to stop that wicked wolf,
Furious tears stinging my eyes
But just as soon as he came,
The black wolf vanished, dissolved.
Leaving behind an echo of fear
And, running down my face, tear after tear
The silent wolf has struck yet again.
Oh, those were the days
When the wolf was merely a pup
But years of mistreatment
Neglect, hurt, and harm
Have savaged that wolf
Until he is consumed by unending hate
Misery and despair
Yes, the original creature is still deep underneath
But the anger and pain shall cover it up
Like a disguise you can never take off.
Let that be a lesson to all
The ones that you tease
Ridicule, mock, or abuse
Shall one day strike back
And they shall have their revenge
And may it be deadly, maybe its not
But better to be kind to all,
Even the ones who are outcast
Just like the lone wolf,
The solitary wolf,
The Silent Wolf.
