It began as a whisper from the poorest soul's mouth
in the dirtiest corner in the darkest place
From the servants lips it came
doomed to serve the rest of his life
Even the master had stopped to say
Let there be peace on earth!
It was said from the worker
though his body was aching
From the tired murmur of an overworked mother
It escaped the lips of the greediest king
moved with compassion for the country he loved
Let there be peace on earth!
It broke free from the heart of the weak and the wise
from the soul of a normal person like you...
...let there be peace on earth
