Hope for another day

standing on the edge of forever

darkness swallowing him whole

choking uncontrolled

falling bottomless deep

this ends here now

this ends tonight

sweet lullabies whispering in his head

heart pounding fingers closing

around cold steel

that reflects his inside fear

the moment is now

drawing very close

steel and flesh about to touch

whispers turn into nothing much

a voice stronger speaks in his head

making him realize that hope is ahead 

dropping blade and falling faint

waking to a new day.
