Alone in the Dark

She spent her life alone
In the dark and in misery.
She stayed locked away at home,
She was rarely given sympathy.

She could never find happiness,
For it hid in dark corners.
She felt sadness and coldness — 
She had no one to warm her. 

Then came perfection —
A boy wonderful in every way — 
He gave her positive attention,
She no longer felt shame.

But they could not be together —
She knew that quite well.
With him she felt light as a feather 
And without him, she was in Hell. 

To this day she remains true,
The one boy she loves, it is to. 
All believe her love grew — 

But no one knows, for she is again 

Alone in the dark.
