Dust

Views (11) Other Created on 2-3-08 Flag
A soft touch,
A relieved sigh

Continuous waiting as the flame slowly fades
To an ember that barely glows, faintly there
Color giving way the black and white and the various shades
The sound of your voice barely salvaging despair

The quiet whisper,
The longing thought

Losing all hope, I slowly waste away
Leaving little behind for you to remember me by
So powerful in every way, if only I could hear you say
That simple phrase, there would be no need to be shy

Sincerity beyond belief,
Yet I shall never feel that which I desire

A feeling that never goes away, yet grows steadily,
Invades my soul, my being, until I can no longer breathe
Without my heart weighing heavily.
So little separates one half from another, yet so much the whole cannot be

The lack far outweighs the loss
And the desire balances with tears
The feeling I get never ceases,
The hope never disappears

Leave me be and I shall disappear into nothing
Let me stay and I shall deteriorate into dust
