Crossed Paths

There once was a girl
who was lost and couldn't find her way.
The only path she could find was filled with
depression, anger, and loneliness.

Then there was also a boy
who followed a similar path.
He had known no happiness or love.
Just self inflicted pain and suffering.

One day their paths crossed.
They discovered that they had endured the same pain and sadness
and then they knew that they were meant to save one another
from the future of suicide they knew they were headed for.

Over the next few months they shared, listened, and understood
the stories of despair they each had to tell.
They soon fell in love,
overtook by the deep emotions they shared.

Now that they had each other's shoulder to lean on
and one another's love to rely on
they took on a new path together
filled with happiness, love, and joy
