That Day I Wept

He said, "I love you"

then he hung up.

Why is it always,

me getting stuck?

I thought it would be easy,

but no, it was hard.

I still can’t take it,

I broke his heart.

I will never forget,

the last thing he said.

Forever it will be,

ringing in my head.

That is something,

I will never forget.

That day I left him,

that day I wept.

So remember when you do things,

first think them through.

It might be hard on him,

it could be harder on you.
