Misery

    Every day with you was like walking through a stacilite tunnel,

          one wrong move and your anger would pummel,

    You bit, you scratched, you threw mug's and glass,

      nearly everyday you put me on my ass,

   you told me you loved me through your bottle of barcardi,

     you said you only hurt me to make me a 'hardie'

  you would leave me everynight to go 'somewhere',

     left me with my young siblings, i didn't think it was fair,

  but i still loved you no matter what horrors i'd seen,

    i hoped every day you would change into a new being,

              some nights i wished you dead,

         but your famous threats filled me with lead,

          everyday you reminded me i was useless,

        sometimes you'd beat me senseless,

         i've escaped your pshycotic themes,

        but even after all this time it seems,

          you left your empty imprint.
