Dirt Road

A red dirt path

patchwork of shadows on the dirt

the beauty of it last

but so does all the hurt

i was here with him

when he said he would be true

now im treading down the same old path

walking hand in hand with you

saying

you know this roads a weak one

and it might not ever last

sometimes its hard to mend

when so many storms line its past

in a moment rain could come

and wash it all away

so you must be a little crazy

to keep walking down this way

around the edges theres flowers

but the inside is just dirt

so by glance its hard to tell

how badly its been hurt

but somehow you see its beauty

and for some reason you stay

and i still think
