A Military Poem

Look What We've Done To God's World

In the beginning, God created the world,

Magnificently beautiful, wonderous and grand,

With sparkling streams and babbling brooks,

Sustaining life throughout the land.

He made towering hills and  mountain high,

Snow-capped or decked with trees of every hue

Sweet scented on the gentle breeze.

At early dawn, God's Glorious sun

Majestically brightens the day,

Making glad the hearts of lowly man.

As he trudges along lifes way.

And for the night God made the moon,

To brighten the darkened earth,

He gave us a myrid of sparkling starts,

For light, peace, joy and mirths.

And God made all the living things

To in habit and cover the land,

But God glorified his great creation

By creating man and then woman.

He placed them in the Garden of Eden

And a wonderful world, it would have been,

But Adam and Eve disappointed God,

When the evil serpent caused them to sin.

But God's love lingered and he sent a flood

To rid the world of sin and and shame.

He even gave to the world, His only son

To redeem sinful man in his name.

Now look what we've done to God's World,

Everywhere we find sin , Of varice and greed,

Men lie, cheat , destroy, and kill

Sowing daily and omnious deeds.

We forget those in Ghettos, dark and cold

In crowded homes, dreary, bleak and blare.

We forget the suffering, penniless and old

Who need our help, our cheers and prayers.

We've polluted the air, we must daily breathe,

We've polluted the sparkling streams,

We've robbed the earth of her treasure rare,

We've been polluting our minds it seems.

Oh the world today virile men

Who will take a firm and righteous stand,

Against injustices and wrongs each day

And in humanity throughout the land.

We must strive to work and help and serve,

With loyalty to our flag unfurled.

We must amend our ways and penitent be,

For what We've done to God's beautiful World.
