Richard's Poem

We're going to miss you when you're gone
But you'll be here all along
In our hearts and in our minds
And in the memories you left behind
For you are leaving soon
To serve our country under the moon
When you're gone everything will change
Our lives won't be the same
Everyday we'll miss you more
Everyday that we get no word
If you are alive, if you are dead
Or if you are praying in your bed
For you have known us for many years
And when I think about it here comes the tears
Once they start they just don't stop
It feels like my heart is going to pop
But you made your choice
And didn't hear my voice
So i'm writing you this poem
In hopes you will come home
Come home to live not to die
Come home where you don't have to cry
Where there're people who love you, people who care
People who want you to get out of there
I gave you this poem I have one the same of my own
