Malice in Demonland

Stomach pains and nervous ticks

her hands shake as she scrambles

for her tools

Malice, they call her,

is headed for Demonland

to visit

white rabbits

She wants to catch them

but they're so elusive

she cannot afford them

yet she still chases

A White Rabbit beckons her

taunts her and

laughs at

her anguish 

He sits atop

the Rabbit Hole as

he's melting down inside

She puts her lips to the

other end to inhale him

in one breath

and he scurries around inside her

promising her nothing as

he whispers that  "you're late

you're late for a very important date"

and as she listens

Cheshire cats grin in window corners

Hookah smoking caterpillars

count thier change

The queen of hearts soldiers

march in her ears

and shadows peek in and out

of corners

Oh how passionately

she seeks him again

and soon

Malice finds another Rabbit

and he squeezes through the Rabbit hole

as she inhales out of desperation

oh how she loves Rabbits so

but wants to let these Demon Rabbits go

Prancing around in Demonland

Malice forgets the time

Floating in and out

of smoke filled bliss

White Rabbits wash away

the pain

the tears

the memories of her

her family

her friends

her children and

all concerns

but

one

White Rabbits

and

now

"She's late, she's late

for a very important date"

with

a White Rabbit
