some silly ring

before I met you I forgot what love was
and the things I always heard it does
makes you do crazy things
like wearing a silly ring

everyday just as a way 
a symbol that simply says
I belong to you
that way people who never knew

the loving things i always told
they can just see it and know i was bold
time goes by
and no matter how hard we try

older we grow and older we get
but this poem isnt finished yet
cuz your symbol only grows with time
beyond the reason and rhyme

I now wear two rings
one made of gold but another that sings
cut deep into my finger
where it will forever linger

even if the ring should be forgotten
and the memories rotten
the mark shall always remain 
its just another thing i have gained

by being close to you for so long 
and finally have someplace i belong
because of you i see what love is
and its not some stupid rhyme

or some silly ring
its how my heart seems to sing
and how everytime i see ur eyes
every bad thought in my mind just dies

and there is only you
thats one thing thats always true
I wonder if u ever knew
just how much ive always loved you
