Don't Say A Word

Have you ever said something, but no one heard you?
Have you ever tried to speak, but instead, silently dealt?
Have you ever needed to say something but held it in?
Has anyone ever cared how you felt?
Do you keep your emotions bottled up until it hurts?
Even then, do you ever utter a word?
When someone has a problem, do you listen with car and respect?
When someone speaks to you, do you listen like they expect?
I can honestly say I have never really been heard.
I can honestly say I don't ever say a word.
I know how it feels to be hurt and neglected.
I know what it's like to be rejected.
I understand how it feels to totally disappear.
I know what it's like ; like I'm not really here.
If I say what I want or feel, it may all be in vain.
If I speak and no one listens, I feel the pain.
It's better this way ; not really being heard,
So from this point forward, I won't say a word.
