Breaking down,
Breaking dawn
The sun rises
But the cold of the night
Presses on
Inside of my veins.
Feeling nothing but stupid
Self-destruction
Cracking on the surface
So everyone else can see
Hiding behind a shattered mirror
To shield myself from the light.
Pounding head,
Screaming voices,
Walking away.
The sun sets
To the bottom of my stomach
I hope it comes up in the morning.
Crying isn’t enough
Hurting isn’t enough
Wait,
Think,
Hope that it’s over.
Breaking down,
Breaking dawn
The sun rises
But the cold of the night
Presses on
Inside of my veins.
