Maybe if you read my mind

My confusion would finally make sense.

If you whisper secrets in my ear,

I promise I won’t tell.

I’m frozen and waiting

For anything at all.

The dark nights become longer,

And we start blending in.

Maybe you’d be better off

If your nightmares became reality.

We’re too oblivious to emotion,

Too numb to know what we feel.

These days are getting colder,

And we sneak outside just to be alone.

Maybe we’re supposed to fall backwards

And never get back up.
