On my toes
Tipped and confident
I dance, eyes closed.
I circle for the sky
My hair shines, twirls
Feet pointed, I spin-
Free.
The word, like a whisper
Rushing through my lithe body
It takes away my bones
And I move with the breeze
Swaying with the trees
Faster, higher, I rise
With the birds, I fly
My body sings for Mother Earth
Arms lifted as in prayer
I'm esctatic with joy
Offering myself to the heavens
I feel lighter than that of an atom
but larger than life-
I'm free.
