My Mistake
I hold you every night in dreams,
wake up to find how real it seemed.
A touch, a kiss, a story told,
the hopes inside my head unfold.
All that I want, yet cannot be,
so far and too different from me.
I dream a dream that can't be true,
Why can't I fall in love with you?
Teary eyed and all alone,
torn up by your heart of stone.
A thought, a feeling, unexplained,
a love regretfully maintained.
I thought I wanted you so bad,
though now all that I feel is sad.
And now I'm stuck, as if by glue,
Why did I fall in love with you?
