Ruined

I have ruined everything.

Taking things for granted.

We even talked about a ring.

Our futures firmly planted.

I can’t take this pain or loss.

I must not cry these tears.

Of losing love this is the cost,

I’m left with just my fears.

I can’t take all of the blame.

But yes, it’s mostly mine.

So now I sit here with this shame,

Of love there’s not a sign.

I will always cherish you,

The love I could not keep.

Whatever it is now you do,

I’m glad it isn’t weep.
