My Father |
God of Time
I drew a god in the sand
his hands reflected the sun
and his mind the moon
light blue, the crawling efigies
burned brightly in the darkness
two worlds born of one mind
the clouds sank, and the oceans rose
Mordred stands tall above his father's corpse
and the earth split in half
in time I'll find the river once again
and drift along with the fish
all the same, yet not a single one alike
perhaps it hurts too much to dream
the soul has been lost, and the heart collapsed within itself
too lightly is Her song sung now, only the owls can hear
and this god that I drew rose unto his feet
the sands of time scattered throughout his being
I smile
"I don't belong here"
his hands reflected the sun
and his mind the moon
light blue, the crawling efigies
burned brightly in the darkness
two worlds born of one mind
the clouds sank, and the oceans rose
Mordred stands tall above his father's corpse
and the earth split in half
in time I'll find the river once again
and drift along with the fish
all the same, yet not a single one alike
perhaps it hurts too much to dream
the soul has been lost, and the heart collapsed within itself
too lightly is Her song sung now, only the owls can hear
and this god that I drew rose unto his feet
the sands of time scattered throughout his being
I smile
"I don't belong here"
