Thoughts Of A Soldier Part 2

Author's note: I dont think I explained the source enough in the last poem. When I was going through basic training for the Army, I wrote my then girlfriend a letter everyday. I came across a few poems I wrote her last time I visited her. I callled her my then girlfriend, because we are now married, and I couldn't be happier.

 Now what you came to read:

In my bunk I still lay

And I haven't a clue

The only thing I am certain of

Is I'm in love with you

We don't know where we're going

Or what we will do

One thing you can rely on is

Wherever you go, I'll be right beside you

College, marriage

Child after child

Sight will go, hair gray

After a while

But that doesn't matter

Because there's one thing I am sure of

Every night, for the rest of my life

I'll fall asleep next to the one I truly love...you
