Nearly Unnoticied

Views (67) Fear Created on 5-1-08 Flag

Calm before the storm.

The wind races, and dark clouds thunder,

Bright lightning streches itself across the ominous sky.

Children come out and stare in wonder,

No animals now, not a bird flys by.

One last crash before it all begins,

Frightens all people gone astray, lost souls,

As they pray forgiveness of their sins.

Humbles me, a diminutive of an unmeasurable whole.

Immediatly pouring, no delay for soft rainfall,

The merciless, violent storm, as beautiful as terrible,

Dancing in the warm summer hurricane, seen by no one at all,

A mixture of joy, excitement and fear, almost unbearable.

Suddenly stopping, as quick as it began,

Leaving every surface resplendently soaking.

Ceasing the unpitying wind without plan.

Now a sprinkle of rain, as if the heavens were joking.

I heard my name softly called, shivers not from the rain.

Almost remebering a forgotten mystery,

Recalling a nearly unnoticied, hidden pain.

Completely still, storm's gone, along with it, a secret history.

Calypso32 WOW.....the spelling could use a bit of tweaking and some punctuation re-arrangement would make this poem even more potent. these metaphors and allusions are so finely tuned even in their adrenalin spiked simplicity there is a transient intangible pathos to this poem, Brava chica Brava!~L
