Missed Opportunity
Missed Opportunity 2/26/08 Long ago and far away, two souls did collide on a beautiful day. Neither knew at the time of the significance, which was to their detriment and consequence. Fore if they had known their paths did not cross by chance, they may have embarked on their preplanned romance. The signs went unseen as they had no eyes, no ability to perceive, as they were unwise. They enjoyed their time and laughed together, frolicked along in the beautiful weather, but at days end they went their way, never seeking for another day. Both home alone they sat and pondered, why true love had not graced the path they wandered. They cried out to God, blasphemed His name, it was His fault, ‘twas Him they blamed. Lone wolves they both had dubbed themselves, opportunity knocked they never delved. Fore they had no ears to hear the sound, of loves gentle rapping when it came around. Destined to be alone for good, they accepted their plight though they never should. The following day on another street, they both had a chuckle when they chanced to meet. They shared their stories and expressed their fears, gave each other a hug, dried the flowing tears. But once again at days end bid each other good-bye, never asking each other for another try. They both made their way, shoulder checking for one finally glance, both completely unknowing they were missing their chance.

| I think I remember this one from last time round... it hit a nerve with me. I really like this one. It's a well told story that is all too common. Very sad too |

| I recently deleted all my poems here and I am slowly re-listing a few of my favorites, along with some new ones. I liked this one because it was different for me. I hope you enjoy. June |
