To Find The Way Out

The commotion of the people, struck me curiously

They were frantic and screaming, still I had to see

The cage kept them locked, the key thrown away

I felt drawn to their presence with nothing to say

Shouting their pain and sorrow wanting to be free

I stepped a little closer, eyeing them seriously

While the parents seemed to watch this from my eyes

Laughing at the dripping tears as each child cries

I had to do something, no matter what came my way

They still echo in my ears each and everyday

Little voices of children dance around my head

I rattle the cage of the phrases left unsaid

I wanted to ask why they were kept there like this

These thoughts in my head, I had to dismiss

Fore the reasons if known, might have altered my plan

Sometimes ignorance is bliss, or I’d surely have ran

My mind was made up, as something's so wrong

I prayed for these people, I wished the weak strong

Why so much suffering abounds I do not understand

Cant someone help me, just take their hand

My desire required action to gain result I behooved

I sought for Spirit discern as what’s to be my next move

Father help me to make their nights just a little less colder

Only You have power to lift this weight on their shoulders

I closed my hands around theirs prayed for no more tears

These words lifted their hearts and diminished their fears

The chains that had bound them were suddenly broke free

The caged doors that had trapped them were open to flee

I still wonder sometimes why they were kept there like this

These thoughts in my head, I had to dismiss

Little voices of children dance around my head

I no longer rattle the cage of the phrases left unsaid

All that was needed was asking, with belief that He'd give

I'll never forget this memory as long as I live

An angel descended from heaven lead them into eternity

Guided their hands and set their souls free
