SUNDAY MOURNING

It was a dark and dreary Sunday morning

As I woke up and felt the emptiness

Fearing sadness would come without warning

As time seems to capture my beauty with such cruelness

The bright days mock me while the world continues turning

I open my eyes and I find myself lost

The dark nights laugh, as I am still yearning

The light is blinding, the air leaves me breathless

My sanity barely intact, finding vanity to be masking

With no where to start, I sit here emotionless

Cumbersome thoughts of my inner beauty leave me asking

And searching for the earnest spirit that once dwelled here

I'm picking up the remains of a Sunday morning that has yet to come in clear...
