The River Wild

Just like a raft, that enters seas

Uncharted course, no plan compiled

I’m here to journey, life unknown

Step up and challenge, the river wild

I must confront each day, with open eyes

Be on my guard, for rocks and walls

Listening intently to the waters signs

So as to avoid approaching falls

So many hazards, lie in my path

Awaiting their chance, to pull me under

I must keep aware, to pull boat aside

At first sign, of lightning’s thunder

With God as my captain, steering ship

I’m no longer drifting, to no avail

He’ll guide my course, and keep me safe

If waters flood, He’ll help me bail

Sometimes the path gets narrow, it’s a bumpy ride

And in those times, I hang on tight

Smooth water’s coming, around the bend

Although at present, it’s not in sight

I just continuously stroke, my uncharted course

Obeying His guidance like a child

When I keep my focus, and eyes on Him

I’m up to challenge, the river wild
