Eight simple letters

A lifetime of complicated meanings

I gave you three words

You accepted them

You gave me three words back

I accepted them

You’ve taken them back

And given them to someone else

Now I sit here

Looking at the sky

Wishing I could have them back

But knowing I never will

And so I’ll search for my own three words

Hoping I can forever keep them as my own
