Look into the mirror,

Tell me what you see.

A little boy with wants denied,

Or a soul that God hath gratified?

Your eyes, they spell the dark lament,

That echoes back your soul's torment.

Your hate, your rage, your jealous rage

Have left you bound within this cage.

Your hopes and dreams are far away,

They brought you here, to your dismay.

You almost die,

As life goes by,

And always wonder "why"?

You look ahead at idled men

(They, too, near wound up dead),

You look ahead and look behind,

(The past and future seem too kind)

And see there only gold to find.

But as you stare, they stare on though,

They're looking, staring back at you.

So look in the mirror,

Tell me what you see.

But as you stare ahead, behind,

Those idled men of gold you find,

They look ahead and look behind,

And where you are's the gold they find.
