heart drenched with desire
empty wholes plague my thoughts
the year ends and I’m still in droughts
don’t think I can stop the spinning
you slip in and slide out fanning
stoking up the fire
like the longing of a pyre
I remember the silkiness of your flesh
which I long to caress
wrapped up in you
feeling the smoothness of you
seeing your face today
took me back to yesterday
no kiss to welcome me
as hope in me flees
tonight I sit waiting
for the morning lighting
for a new year so bright
to burn away the night
the year ends and I’m still in droughts
