Different beauty

Views (7) Pain Created on 6-22-08 Flag
I see the world through different eyes;
I am blind, but I see those who're nice.
A twinkle of their eyes and an adorable smile.
It takes me more than a mile.

I see the world with my heart,
if evil I see, I will dart.
My head commands my love,
Seeking the one pure as a dove.

I feel the wind through my fingertips.
Cures the pain that love on my heart rips.
My silent dream as bright as day,
Cutting me blindly as I see it replay.

I walk through the rain,
the drops taking my pain.
The cold freezing my insides,
Taking my mind away besides.

I mutter my quiet prayer, unnoticed.
The cruel thoughts I resist.
I dream silently of my hope,
Even though it dangles delicately on a rope...

It hurts to know that it can't be reached.
It hurts to know the truth's been breached.
Slowly and surely my lifeblood's leeched.
And yet my heart stays unbleached.
