Ever felt that miserable pang-
How mournfully your heart sang,
Seeing memories now so rotten,
Those you wish forgotten?

"I knew he was there.
He used to be everywhere.
But now he's gone, gone away.
What have I left to say?

I wish I could say I'm sorry,
Say it all without a worry.
To get him back, right next to me,
Where he belonged, as far as I see.

Yet his forgiveness is elusive.
