Goodbye.

A year gone, friendships made.
All the problems duly paid.
Engraved memories, good and bad;
Some are happy, some are sad.

At eleven, we mocked and teased,
At the age of twelve, all that ceased.
We protected and cared for him,
We had hope filled to the brim.

A final chapter, a full-stop.
All just vanished in a pop.
A phone call, heartbreak ensue.
It left us all feeling so blue.

In the night, bad news was born,
We didn't know until eight thirty in the morn.
Life had passed, a phone call.
Our spirits started to fall.

Days ahead, tears had flown.
Cancer ruled, the bomb had blown.
Leukemia, the blood disease.
So many lives it managed to seize.

He was healthy, it came as a shock.
It was like a broken lock.
His family badly affected,
His friends all shattered.

He was a kind boy, full of hope.
He was not one to be mistaken as a dope.
Listened to others, helped them too,
Never uttered, "I hate you."

A depressing wake,
All for his sake.
People cried, people saw.
Their cold hearts began to thaw.

Councelling, more sad words.
They're like dead birds.
His funeral, we all missed.
Exam that day, we couldn't be dismissed.

PSLE, listening and grief.
Important, in brief.
They do not mix,
Not into a group of one and six.

September 13, twelve's night.
So ends his dreadful plight.
2006, An important year.
In our hearts, there is a spear.

I know it is long since you've left,
We are no longer deaf.
But I have one exclamation,
Yes, just one last dedication...
