My Shell

Metaphorically Alive

the rain is falling
but is tinted red
the sky is falling
and the world is dead.

vision is failing
and time's running out;
nowhere to turn
and soaked with doubt.

the rivers are flooding
and becoming unclean;
trees are sulkin,
awaiting the dread.

knees give out,
flood the nerves with pain;
arms reach upward
then fall in vain.

winds are screaching,
hiding the screams;
lightning is snapping,
illuminating the scene.

eyes are glazed,
shinning a dusky grey;
fingers limp,
starting to fray.

the sun is setting,
leaving the skies dark;
clouds amalgamating,
destroying all focus.

body disintegrating,
becoming detritus;
world crumbling,
ceasing to exist.
