Assault Amongst Colors

Assault Amongst Colors

Specks of many colors line the street—

Red scattered about the pavement,
White almost invisible,
Green, the cause of it all.
They and the others mingle,
Trapped inside purple-brown walls.

Yellow hidden in a corner,
Orange stalking its prey,
But the brown and purple are
Too many, even for they.

A swarm of bees buzzes along
Toward the blasphemous burly fort.
Colorful suede jackets ensue, strong
Despite their size.  Blue, leading the fray.

He cracks the whip at both their crowns,
Chomps on their barbwire hands,
And gnaws at any chink in sight;
The walls laugh as he tumbles down.

He jumps to his feet before
The bees begin their assault,
Many begin to mount, meanwhile
Orange volleys at the core.
Yellow shoves the first in line
And manages to escape.

Red is assaulted on the wall,
His pieces splatter all around,
Half of green is left behind,
For the rest has not yet been found.

White was taken hostage and
Mauled when the mounting began,
Blue creates a spot of tender-
Ness where brown and purple meet,
And orange has just been
Destroyed at the wall’s feet.

Brown and purple took a toll,
But they will blue defeat
In honor of all those
Never able to flee.
