Arrive Alive

By: Justin Trigg

Can’t be dead

Life inside

Felt the tide

Up in my head

Move along instead

Hopefully you can arrive

I hope I survive

One a day I can say I am alive

Show to you

Feel to strong

Done it wrong

What can be true

Discover my rues

Say goodbye to the thought I’ll survive

What’s going on when you count to five

Will I even be there when I arrive

Disguise the truth with empty lies

You are the one who will die

Cover my face to stay away from the fog

Nothing left of the tree but a lonely log

Will we be here to say we were alive

Who has a right to say when we’ll arrive

Taking time to waste away in front of a clock

Chancing the romance of every thought blocked

We’ve come just in time to see us fall

Or shall we do what we would if only we could call

Left aside for someone to find a way, a subtle alive

Then just by fate or destiny lays down a grip to survive

Shall never go

Right away

For each day

We’ll know

Who we can show

Maybe we can still survive

If only we can stay alive

Who cares if we even arrive

Took to air

Flight failed

Coffin nailed

Do we even care

Should we still share

A simple play of a notion to arrive

Let us know if we are still alive

And just maybe water likes us to dive

Leave the path searching in the prints of our feet

We could of said there was someone there to greet

On a day where we could have been the happy ones

We would of threw ourselves into every sun

In an hour with the seconds passing five

We can say we are the ones still alive

We’ve traveled on such a desolate road of sorrow

Until the dawn we are left to seek a way to borrow

How are we able to cope when we can’t make sense

When all the stains will fade with a single rinse

Upon these lines to which we must try to thrive

In the time it takes from a to b we are told we’ve arrived

If I had to

Would we

Commit me

What about you

What next to do

How did you say you survived

Was everybody else using knives

And were they really honestly alive

No other deceit

Me you blame

Play the same

Taste of tasty defeat

Keep the drips neat

Much more than remaining just alive

Counting seconds way past five

What to say when the feeling thrives

So much more than just speaking in tones

Deeper than the root under the bones

Can’t journey unless you’re already knowing

So tell me if the trip is worth the going

When we find the highway on which we’ll arrive

One of us pulls the trigger the other is still alive

Record the sounds of the breaking heart

Till the earth crashes down while we fall apart

Circumstances surround the facts of a well missed trial

Soon enough the water will overflow the Nile

But we will be left to say we survived

And that there was nothing we couldn’t of strived
