Because the timing was never right
Because I didn't save you from your plight
Because I never asked you why
Because I didn't even try

You threw away our days,
Ruined my life in so many ways
Stung me until I couldn't see straight,
Steel-trapping me with your bait.

Because I helped you fall
And made you lose it all
Because I trashed your favorite doll
Like a slave, I made you crawl

You shot me out the door
Took from me 'til I had no more
Scratched at my wounds 'til they tore
We didn't know what we were fighting for

The lines we angrily drew
The lies we hastily spewed
The hate, with abandon, we threw
And the regret we felt that neither of us knew..

mcihellejane I really liked this. You had an excellent rhyme and great flow and I loved your words. You expressed your emotions very well with this poem--a regret for not being able to see what was happening b/ween the two of you. Unfortunatly that happens too often in relationships, and once it is realized, it's way too late. Anyhow, nice write~
