Jesus Christ saved my life

While in this war we call life,
this battle we all must fight,
on my knees, due to the endless strife,
lost in the dark, looking up, i saw the light.

When i thought my life was about to end,
due to the bludgeoning onslaught of satan,
lacking the strength to myself defend,
did appear a tall and handsome man.

He had not beauty in bones and skin,
but in the way he cared enough
to die for me and all those who sin.
To realize who he was, it was not tough;

he had scars in his hand, a whole in his side.
I knew he loved me, I knew he cared,
and in that moment, all my fears did subside.
No longer lost, no longer scared,

I arose, and  with all my might,
feeling strong, picked up my sword,
and did resume the rigorous fight
against the relentless horde.

And when it all came to an end,
I did find myself alive and well.
My life, successfully, did I defend.
For I had withstood the minions of hell

And coming upon the gates above,
having payed quite a price
to feel my saviors love,
I did see the one and only Christ.

He smiled, stretched forth his arm
and pulled me into a warm embrace.
I felt safe, and free from harm;
and dwelt forever, in that sacred place.
