Waivering Faith

Views (151) Pain Created on 2-16-07 Flag

I look to you,

My heart cries out

I want to come

To be with you again

Like it used to be.

But it seems I can’t

The words won’t form

They’re trapped inside

The longing grows

I think I’ll burst

If I don’t release

This thing in me.

But then

The service ends.

This feeling is buried

Once again.

Deep within my heart.

Perhaps one day

I’ll let it out

And come to you again.

But until then

I look away

I can’t bear to see your face

The tears within your eyes.

brittnee86 I don't know what this is about, but to me it made me think of how I sometimes feel about God... wanting to go to him, but somehow still refusing to. Wanting to feel that unwaivering faith that I had as a child... but somehow turning away from it. Filled with doubt. I liked... and I love how a person can write a poem and set it out into the world for others to find meaning in it. In the end, it doesn't really matter what the poet had in mind... only what the reader gets out of it. Thanks. :)
