Breaking

I hear the words,

But can’t believe,

I want to speak,

How could you leave?

I think about,

The times we’ve shared,

And all the days

You said you cared.

The others said,

It’d soon be through,

I never thought,

That you would too.

Why can’t you see,

Can’t you believe,

That when you’re here,

My soul is free.

You think that I’ll

Be better off,

But just you wait,

And please don’t scoff.

I’ll take this knife,

Put to my skin.

And slowly drain,

This life within.

My flesh is pale,

My body’s cold.

It’s how I speak,

My thoughts untold.

I’ve proved them wrong,

So please don’t cry.

This is the day,

That I will die.
