Breakup
Let’s go watch a movie,
you said, and I agreed.
Two hours in the dark.
I imagined
fingers sneaking slowly down.
A taste, if only just a little one.
A gentle kiss, a soft sensation
so long ago remembered.
Did it ever even happen?
Two fists intertwined,
one within the other.
Fingers cold as ice.
Two eyes, screwed forward
Two hands, now filled with air.
Too many unkept hopes
to keep this thing alive.
Too late to reconsider
two hours in the dark.
No comments yet, be the first to say something.
